Token Warrior
Artwork by Sam Flores for “that pART…,” a showcase of works by Endeavors* and Superchief Gallery 3/23/24 Endeavors* & Superchief Gallery are Demystifying NFTs through Community Art Events In the Bay Area, one of the world’s capitals for both Art and Technology, why hasn’t the web3 art scene taken off in a meaningful way, as compared to places like New York City, Los Angeles and Paris? What is preventing local artists from engaging with blockchain and sharing their work as NFTs? What opportunities can Web3 and blockchain offer for community and creative empowerment? Endeavors*, an Oakland based collective, and Superchief Gallery, an international physical/digital art gallery, aim to address these questions and more through a series of community events centered around connecting local artists with technologists, founders and investors from the blockchain industry. The first of such events is that pART… A showcase of works by local artists, both on and off chain. The evening will include a live painting session from local artist Sam Flores, a panel discussion between those immersed in Web3 and those who still have hesitations, as well as an interactive community conversation around opportunities, roadblocks, skepticism and hope for NFTs and their impact on our local art community. that pART… will take place Saturday Mar 23, 2024 from 6–10 PM at COMMUNE in Oakland (1716 Broadway St.) The aim is to not only inspire but also arm local artists with the tools they need to succeed in the NFT space — while acknowledging the complex relationships between art and tech communities as a result of the Bay Area’s history of gentrification and displacement. Through these events, Endeavors* and Superchief hope to change the narrative from technology displacing artists from our community, to empowering them.

About Endeavors*
Endeavors* produces and promotes unique experiences that nourish the creative cultures of Oakland’s BIPOC communities. We collaborate with our network of artists, cultural producers, vendors, and small businesses and establish mutually beneficial relationships with real estate developers to access and facilitate spaces throughout Oakland. Projects such as the BLM Community Murals, The Murals to the Metaverse NFT Project, and the Homebody Immersive Experience demonstrate the power of collaboration, the resilience of our communities, and the necessity to preserve our cultures. We are radically reimagining new and responsible options for community engagement by forming safe spaces that bring immediate mental and financial support to locals of all walks of life. We need only to look within each other for the resources needed to blaze a new path which provides peace, equity, equality and opportunity for all.
