Espace d'un scandale

Rooted in Sébastien Pitt's artistic approach known as Segments, where each artwork conjures a dreamscape, thus weaving between perceptions and affects. Generated using a custom-made MAX8 patch designed for 3D audiovisual performance setup, this particular piece titled "Espace d’un scandale" (Scandalous Space) premiered at the First Friday event by Digital Dreams KC and showcased throughout May 2024.

Artist bio

Sébastien Pitt is an independent professional Canadian artist specializing in digital arts. Recognized in his field by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, his practice spans across audiovisual installations, performances, augmented reality, and NFTs. He crafts his works using a meticulously calibrated performative system, integrating high-definition 3D elements that dynamically respond to sound compositions created by modular synthesizers. His aesthetic exploration delves into the intersection of the intangible and the visible, manifesting through layers of generative textures and the revelation of virtual objects, thereby navigating the intricate relationship between perception and emotion. His works have been featured on esteemed platforms such as Blackdove (2024), TheCurated.app (2023), and ArtificialMuseum.com at the Vienna Art Week (2023). Notable exhibitions include showcases at Nathan Philips Square in Toronto (2023), New City Gaz by OxSociety, Montréal (2022), and at the Société des arts technologiques [SAT] during the 7th edition of the Symposium IX — Sound & Immersion, Montréal (2021). Additionally, Sébastien Pitt has presented interactive augmented reality pieces, NFTs, and audiovisual performances at the Théâtre Gilles-Vigneault in collaboration with the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides – MAC LAU during the 5th edition of the “Nourritures terrestres” event in Saint-Jerome, Qc (2022). He also performed an audiovisual showcase at the Wikithon of 3L Culture numérique (2021). Furthermore, he has organized and curated exhibition and cultural mediation events at the Place des Citoyens in Sainte-Adèle, Qc (2021) and at the Maison Hamilton in Rosemère during the Journées de la Culture, hometown (2021).
