𝖑𝖎𝖓𝖉𝖞 a project that didn't exist a week ago. a series inspired by someone else's creativity and four dimensional thinking. jack butcher broke my frame. he recently wrote a post about building an interface for knowledge consumption with a complexity slider, allowing for a varying degrees of nuance as the slider shifts. (see post here: https://x.com/jackbutcher/status/1841858149776523753). i am always intrigued by the way jack is able to stratify and interpret complex systems into simple concept. His example to illustrate was a post titled "Read 100 Lindy Books in 10 Minutes" (https://visualizevalue.com/blogs/visuals/read-100-lindy-books-in-10-minutes). i decided to take the concept one step further, to see if i could illustrate concepts in one work of art. 𝖑𝖎𝖓𝖉𝖞 is a collection of 1/1 works built with the dynamic art engine by transient labs. Each artwork contains two secret artworks, hidden and protected by a secret phrase. interact/click the art, type in the secret phrase, and reveal the other works. simply click the artwork to return to the cover state. keyboard commands functional on desktop. the 𝖑𝖎𝖓𝖉𝖞 effect the lindy effect is a statistical theory that suggests that the longer something has been around, the longer it will likely continue to exist/persist. this idea is based on the idea that things that have stood the test of time are more durable. albert goldman first used the term in 1964 to describe the longevity of comedians' work, and mathematician benoit mandelbroit later refined the idea. the lindy effect can be applied to many constructs, such as: technologies, ideas, companies, and cultural works. for example, if a book has been in print for 40 years, it's likely to remain in print for another 40 years.
